Howdy!
My go-to breakfast is steak and eggs. It's good and fatty, so it's perfect for keto, and there's just something about skillet steak that I love. Usually, I get it when I go out for breakfast, but quarantine doesn't really allow for much of that!
So my favorite way to make steak and eggs at home is to melt at least two tablespoons of ghee (Tinstar Foods ghee is my fave) into a pan before adding my eggs which are beaten with heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Regular butter and olive oil just don't offer up the same flavor!
I was also put on to Redmond Real Salt by Rachel Gregory. It's an ancient sea salt recommended by doctors and health professionals for its unique blend of trace minerals, and perfecto for keto! So I add that to my steak and my eggs—it even has a better flavor than regular sea salt.
Anyway, enjoy this week's hand-picked recipes!

Weekly Tip:
There is a lot of confusion in the keto community right now when it comes to "what is keto". Having been doing keto for a decade, I can assure you most of it is just the result of the diet getting popular, and people making up their own rules. This is a shame, because it scares people away from trying and makes keto sound unsustainable.
Getting into ketosis is as simple as eating 20 or less net carbs per day, and some people can eat up to 50. Certain foods like peanuts, dairy, or carrots aren't "restricted" from the diet unless you choose not to eat them. Since everyone is doing keto with personal goals (many not even weight loss), it's impossible to write one-size-fits-all rules.
Keto is not a diet, it's a metabolic state with a personal journey -- stay in ketosis eating less carbs, and tweak the rest on your own.
Make your own damn rules.
(Just don't tell everyone else to follow them.)
Coconut Lime Skirt Steak
This recipe is the epitome of coconut-lime steaks, it’s drenched in piquancy and has a nice kick to it from the red pepper flakes. And I repeat, it’s packed with flavor, so it’s not for vanilla taste buds!
